Join Us at AGU’s Annual Meeting
NASA Harvest and NASA Acres jointly convene this session to highlight new findings, methods, data sources, and challenges across scales and geographies related to the use of EO for agriculture and food security.
For over half a century, NASA and other agencies have developed Earth observing (EO) tools and techniques for assessing agriculture, issuing early warnings of production shortfalls, and filling information gaps. Recent advances in EO, including enhanced sensors, reduced data latency, accessible analysis-ready data, and improvements in field data collection and management, have increased the adoption of EO for agricultural decision-making.
NASA Harvest and NASA Acres, as NASA’s global and domestic food security and agriculture consortia respectively, continue to work at the intersections of public and private sectors, data producers and consumers, and farmers and researchers to enable and empower organizations to make informed decisions supporting food security and resilient agricultural systems.
