This role will include working with Dr. Yun Yang, a NASA Acres funded researcher, on studying the relationships and connections between soil health and plant water use. This position will be responsible for collecting and analyzing soil health and plant water use. Exploring the relationships of soil health and its influence on plant water use and how different agricultural practices, and geographic scale influence these relationships.
Dr. Yang’s work with NASA Acres is centered in the study of groundwater table, and its depletion as it threatens the sustainability of water supply. Focusing on evapotranspiration, a representation of the land surface water use, and using satellites data to evaluate and compare ET with flux tower observations. With the goal of helping farmers between monitor crop conditions and provide field scale irrigation schedule information.
The position is available starting November 1, 2024 and will remain open until filled.
