Our Consortium has many members and many projects - all are organized, underpinned, and supported by four Foundational Activities.

The utility of satellite data is dependent upon the data that are used to develop the methods and validate the results. For NASA Acres to produce the farm-relevant agriculture information that our Collaborators are asking for, farm data are necessary. Farmers have spoken repeatedly about their concerns over sharing data, and we have listened.

The purpose of this foundational effort is for NASA Acres partners and stakeholders to be better equipped with training and tools that will allow them to recruit and better support people who will provide new perspectives and innovative solutions to challenges the entire globe faces. A diverse STEM community ensures that people from various backgrounds, identities, and experiences are part of scientific endeavors and conversations to create systems change collectively. When different perspectives are included, it enriches research, innovation, and problem-solving.
NASA Acres is committed to supporting a stable agricultural workforce. We support the recruitment and training of scholars and agriculture professionals through internships, mentoring, toolkits, research, and seed grants that elevate transformative and sustainable opportunities through workforce development. Consortium partners are provided leadership development and resources that create, sustain, and retain a viable workforce that meets the needs of the current and future workforce.
